I will start by explaining my username of this blog. Somehow, four years ago, while members of my family were helping me learn what a blog is as we where on this site, the name "The Golden Child" was chosen. It represents a favorite person, someone who everyone seems to love no matter what. They are held at the highest esteem. There has always been a running joke in the family about who the golden child was or is? We have a table in the family room where there is an open drawer under a glass top to display what has included pictures, certificates of achievement, birthday wishes and holiday cheer. Through the years, I have tried to honor members of our family for special occasions by highlighting and featuring them in the table. The table began to get labeled as the Shrine. Some thought that others were featured more frequently than some and for longer lengths of time. Thus, those individuals began to be labeled as the Golden Child.
Honestly, that is a very fluid concept. If there is a golden child in our family, it is always changing and what I have learned with time is that they have all held that place of distinction. I love my family no matter what! I hold each of them in the highest esteem! Together, who we are is Golden to me! We, my husband and I, began from a single choice to love each other and from there we added a wonderful group of people to our lives! It is growing and changing continually. Watching that happen is magical and adds new dimensions to our group. So my post today, is a thank you note to the people that I love! You are wonderful! You have made my life GOLDEN!
